December 28 -- Proxim Completes Acquisition of Wavespan Corporation: Addition of Wireless Broadband Equipment Maker Expands Proxim's Product Offerings with 5 GHz 100 Mbps Wireless Bridging Solutions

December 28 – Proxim Inc., a leading supplier of spread spectrum wireless LAN products, announced that it has acquired Wavespan Corporation, a developer of wireless broadband access solutions.

This acquisition will enhance Proxim’s market position as a leader in wireless LAN.  It will add complementary building-to-building products and technology to include 5GHz wireless bridges delivering speeds up to 100 Mbps each with two T-1 voice channels.  Proxim will profit from Wavespan’s expertise in developing wireless broadband access solutions to enable rapid, flexible and cost-effective network connectivity for corporate and carrier-class applications.
