APPLICATIONS, PRODUCTS AND SERVICES

HP and Everypath Collaborate to Make it Easy for Companies to Deliver Wireless Web Services

Capitalizing on the huge market of mobile e-services, Hewlett-Packard Company and Everypath, Inc., mobile application services provider, will co-develop and co-market a new wireless Internet service that will make it easy for companies to deliver e-services to mobile-device users of smart phones and Palm VII.

For companies wanting to deliver e-services, such as e-banking and online stock trading, and complete e-commerce transactions, HP and Everypath solution will:

  • Provide a turnkey hosted solution featuring HP’s network management services, HP-UX and NT computing systems, firewall and intrusion protection software
  • Allow multiple Web servers to connected into a seamless personalized offering for mobile device users via HP’s e-speak open platform, consists of the software, complete programming specifications, and other tools and services.  It is designed specifically for the development, deployment and intelligent interaction of e-services.
  • Require no reprogramming of existing sites to enable wireless access

The HP-Everypath collaboration will accelerate the development of the wireless Web infrastructure that companies need in order to take advantage of a huge market opportunity for mobile e-services.

Mobile Advisory and Comments: 724 showed the way and got outstanding validation from the investment community from their customers and IPO enthusiasts.  Now the big players like HP are diving in but with a difference - to cover more ground of the infrastructure and provide features like enterprise network management. Integration with existing systems without reprogramming is important feature HP-Everypath boasts. HP has shown in the past that they can be nimble and yet provide holistic view of the problem.  They can match the financial muscle of invigorated 724 but will they convince the likes of Bank of America, City Bank and others that they have a superior solution. We expect that from HP - let us hope they deliver.
