Axis Communications and Ericsson to Create Bluetooth Printing Solutions

Axis Communications and Ericsson have agreed to integrate their expertise in the development of Bluetooth standardization to ensure seamless interoperability with future devices from other manufacturers.  Their first offer will be to develop mobile printing technology that will allow mobile workers to user Bluetooth wireless devices, such as Ericsson’s mobile phones, to print to any Axis-enabled printer. Initial product offerings are expected to be available in the 3Q.

Bluetooth wireless technology provides a low-cost means for communication and networking between mobile phones and other portable devices, in a very small form factor. This proximity-based wireless specification opens the door to a wide range of exiting innovations in product design, applications and new services.
