Ericsson Receives ETSI Certification for LMDS Wireless Broadband Product

Ercisson’s latest family of LMDS products MINI-LINK BAS (Broadband Access System) has recently received ETSI certification.  Based on MINI-LINK point-to-point technology, MINI-LINK BAS is a broadband wireless access point-to-multipoint LMDS system.

Mini-Links BAS:

  • Provides end-users with symmetrical or asymmetrical services of up to 37Mbps dynamically allocated between users.
  • Supports next generation networks with carrier–class wireless services that efficiently combine IP–based services, such as high-speed Internet and LAN-LAN interconnection, with established services.
  • Combines microwave access, IP and ATM technologies to provide cost-effective and reliable performance.
  • Can easily be integrated into other vendors’ IP and ATM products, as well as Ericsson’s IP router family, scalable ATM switching line and business switches.

The system is currently being delivered for trials and demonstrations in Europe and North America and will be available for commercial roll-out at the end of June.
