OpenSales Unveils WAP-Enabled, Open Source E-Commerce Applications

OpenSales, Inc., recently released an e-commerce software suite to support WAP enabled devices such as electronic organizers and cellular telephones. Comprised of the OpenSales AllCommerce™ platform and the OpenSales Retailer™ application, the software is designed to customize online pricing, inventory and ordering information, while offering multiple language and currency support.

It is an online solution that consists of six modules for e-commerce capabilities:

  • Content Manager:
    • Creates all the objects necessary to display articles, prices, documents, intermediate pages and variants.
  • Merchandise Manager:
    • Allows retailer to control product displays according to customer buying patterns.
    • Assists cross-selling and up-selling strategies.
  • Statistics Manager:
    • Offers a click pattern analysis for overview of consumer traffic.
  • Order Manager:
    • Processes orders by systemizing customer name, address and shipping information.
    • Performs inventory order and reconciliation
  • Inventory Manager:
    • Real time inventory accounting
  • Administrator:
    • Allows site managers to manage their own administrative contact records in the system.

Both OpenSales AllCommerce and OpenSales Retailer support the Linux, UNIX, and Windows NT server platforms.

OpenSales’ software bypasses application servers, relying on database servers and Web servers.  Dynamic information is stored on the database server while static elements of pages are pre-generated and stored on each frontline Web server. Web servers can be added or removed as needed without blocking access to information on the site.
