U.S. West Takes Stake in Time Domain To Explore Ultra-Wideband Wireless

Following on the FCC’s recent announcement towards legalizing ultra-wideband technology, US West a broadband and communications service provider, has made an equity investment in Time Domain Corp., developer of ultra-wideband wireless technology.

The investment will allow US West to evaluate ultra-wideband technology for use in broadband data applications for businesses. The company will focus on harnessing the technology as a WLAN, linking and integrating next generations of data applications throughout a business environment.

Time Domain developed the PulsON chipset, which is incorporated in Time Modulated Ultra Wideband. The technology uses wireless spectrum to produce high-speed and high-performance wireless capabilities for communications as well as radar and precise positioning and tracking.
