Aether Systems Announce New Development and Hosting Capabilities for XML Protocol

In addition to Aether Systems, Inc.’s other outsourcing services, it will now offer new application hosting and development capabilities using XML protocol. Aether’s XML-based Web delivery service will allow for the rapid deployment of wireless Web services using XML. It is also designed to work in concert with other Aether-hosted offerings including ScoutWeb, which transforms HTML content for display on HTML-based or WML-based handheld devices. Both Web solutions will allow customers to create content just once and deliver it to any wireless device.

For content providers who are considering to go wireless, Aether allows companies to outsource all elements of the Web-to-wireless process from application development, using the Aether Intelligent Messaging (AIM) software platform, through to customer care. Currently, Aether is working with First Data and Cyberbills to deploy Web-to-wireless payment solutions.

Mobileinfo Comments and Advisory: Aether Systems continues to ease development effort for wireless- and mobile-enabling of enterprise applications. Corporate developers should evaluate their offerings, along with others.
