2000 - 21 (June 2000) TECHNOLOGY IBM to Introduce 1GB Hard Drive for Handhelds IBM launched its third generation Microdrive -- the 1GB Microdrive – which triples the capacity of its earlier 340MB and 512MB Microdrives. The 1GB Microdrive
IBM will ship the 1GB Microdrive to OEMs in July with retail shipments scheduled for September. We, more than likely, can look forward to compatible devices from Acer, Casio Computers; the IBM Personal Computer Systems Group; Eastman Kodak Company; Fuji Photo Film; Hewlett-Packard; i2Go; Minolta; Nokia; Psion; RICOH, and Sanyo.
