WINSTAR Offers Microsoft’s Exchange 2000 Platform on ASP Basis

WINSTAR Communications is continuing to expand its business. The company announced recently that it now offers Microsoft Exchange 2000 platform along with its current offering of Microsoft Office 2000 products on ASP basis. With the integration of Microsoft Exchange 2000 into WINSTAR’s portfolio of broadband services, the company can now host and provide applications for messaging, contact management, instant messaging, and workflow.

For enterprises seeking to avoid upfront capital expenditures as well as the IT resource burden of installing, hosting, maintaining and managing the application and hardware, the rental of these applications from WINSTAR are quite attractive.

Currently, WINSTAR is hosting Microsoft Exchange 2000 applications on Windows 2000 servers in its Washington, DC hosting center and plans to replicate the platform in its other data center internationally.

Mobileinfo Comments and Advisory: A good business to offer Exchange services as an ASP. We would encourage WINSTAR to offer wireless support for and handheld devices.
