Nextcell Introduces Powerful 4-Watt Wireless Modem Integrated with GPS Capability

Nextcell, Inc. introduced its Spider-4, all-in-one, four-watt wireless modem with integrated GPS capabilities.

Its provides superior transmission for remote or rural areas delivering up to four watts of transmission power using an externally mounted cellular antenna thus is ideal for public safety, fleet management, AVL, telemetry, and other telemetric applications.

Spider-4 Features

  • A stand-alone modem requiring minimal support
  • Easily interfaces with all types of terminals, such as laptops, mobile display terminals or third-party data acquisition devices
  • Weighs in at less than one pound
  • Protected by a durable, rugged casing
  • Intelligent power adapter preserves the power source by shutting down after a specified time
  • Based on CDPD technology offering a connection speed of 19.2Kbps
  • Standard CDPD security features, such as network encryption and error correction for file messaging and transfers
