PeopleSoft and Broadbeam Team to Deliver Wireless E-Business Solutions

Broadbeam Corporation, formally Nettech Systems, has announced an agreement with PeopleSoft, Inc. to incorporate its wireless middleware platform into PeopleSoft’s Vantive Mobile FieldService application, which was released earlier this year.

Using Broadbeam’s middleware, the Vantive Mobile FieldService solution extends enterprise resources into the field, thereby enabling mobile users to have the latest available data for each service request. The solution allows field service organizations to monitor users in-service availability and escalate all service requests. This first release of this solution supports RIM wireless handheld.

The Vantive Mobile FieldService product is only the first of a series of planned wireless e-business solutions from PeopleSoft, incorporating Broadbeam technology, that will provide sales and service professionals with real-time access to CRM applications.

Mobileinfo Comments and Advisory: PeopleSoft has made the right choice in selecting a well-tried middleware for wireless-enablement of its Vantive field service application. It is another feather in Broadbeam's (formerly Nettech) cap. PeopleSoft's plan to do the same for CRM applications is well-timed.
