Wireless-to-Host Solution bridges the gap between IBM mainframe and AS/400 back-office applications and the Windows 2000 Server platform by connecting the application business logic and transactions into the BizTalk environment and providing a path to wireless devices through Windows 2000. SEAGULL and Microsoft plan to promote the solution to Microsoft’s network of certified solution providers, as well as to customers directly. These applications must be wireless-enabled. SEAGULL's use of PocketPC to do this is welcome. Microsoft is moving gradually and surely into this space. In some ways, a solution based on Windows derivative - PocketPC, has superior compatibility and integration with existing client applications than those based on simpler but less functional Palm Pilot.
