WebLink Wireless Announces Commercial Availability of Telemetry via Wireless Control Systems

WebLink Wireless Inc. has announced the commercial availability of its telemetry services through Wireless Control Systems, the company’s business unit focused on the telemetry market. Its first telemetry devices were shipped to Isochron Data Corporation for telemetry solution in the ice distribution and vending machine industries. Using Motorola’s CreateLink™ 2XT Module, Isochron’s VendCast® system allows vending operators to remotely manage vending machines using critical information such as inventory levels and equipment health.

Modules delivered from WebLink Wireless will be used to automate ice factory machines outside grocery and convenience stores using Isochron’s PolarCast™ system. Using WebLink Wireless nationwide data network*, the PolarCast system collects data remotely from the machines and allows operators to fix problems without having to visit the equipment, resulting in lower maintenance costs.

Isochron’s software systems are scalable and offer a solid, secure foundation for collection, storage, analysis, and distribution of critical data.

Other industries that could take advantage of telemetry applications are atmospheric control, healthcare, municipal services, transportation, and utilities.

*The backbone of WebLink Wireless’s telemetry solution is its narrowband PCS network, using Motorola’s ReFlex protocol.
