Intermec Launches New Mobile Field Service Management Package

For field service companies looking to automating their current paper-based business process, Intermec has launched a new mobile workforce management package, ArciTech, comprising of software, hardware, integration, and training services.

ArciTech software guides the technician, step-by-step, through the process of managing his schedule, tracking status changes, ordering parts, recording invoices, capturing signatures, collecting and reconciling payments, and printing receipts and reports.

Features:

Software runs on Windows CE/95/98 platforms.
Software operates on rugged mobile computers including the Intermec® 602 palm-sized and the Intermec® 6110 handheld units.
The package can be customized to fit the business process of service organizations in industries such as gas and electric utilities, telecommunications, electronics, OEMs, and ISOs.
ArciTech utilizes Centra’s RealTime Database Manager™ (RDM).

RDM stores customer data on the pen-based computer for the mobile worker to access and update.
It is a Windows-based compact database built for applications that require fast performance and small disk storage thus allowing service technicians to complete work regardless of connectivity to enterprise.
Data gathered and stored in RDM throughout the day is then transmitted to the central database where customer information, financial, and inventory are updated.
