2000 - 27 (August 2000) PRODUCTS, SERVICES & APPLICATIONS Novatel to Integrate Diversinet Security Technology in its Modems Diversinet Corp. has announced its agreement with Novatel Wireless, Inc. to integrate its security technology with Novatel Wireless’ Minstrel® line of Wireless Palmtop Modems. The Minstrel family of modems includes the Minstrel III™ and Minstrel V™, which allow users of Palm III and V handheld devices to access the wireless network, via their Palm devices. Under the terms of the agreement, Novatel Wireless will reproduce and distribute the client software as a component of the Minstrel device enablement software. By registering with any Diversinet certificate management service, users will be able to conduct business in a secure environment. Diversinet’s Passport Certificate Server™ provides secure services over distributed wireless architectures. The end-to-end (Client-to-Application) capabilities, inherent in the Diversinet solution, are essential to providing a secure environment for mission-critical applications. The Passport Certificate Server will be available to Minstrel owners on a CD, from which they will be able to then load the software directly on to the device. The product will be available at the end of August 2000.
