2000 - 27 (August 2000) PRODUCTS, SERVICES & APPLICATIONS Texaco Division to Implement Wireless Data Automation for Oilfields Telenetics Corporation announced that its wireless technology has received approval from Texaco Exploration and Production, Inc. as part of the oil company’s monitoring and control network for remote sites. Telenetic’s first microwave T1 data radios will be installed in oilfields around Bakersfield, California. The Company’s proprietary microwave technology will be used to provide data transmission between remote oilfields and Texaco’s central monitoring and control facility in the hills above Bakersfield. The system will also extend telephone services and LAN traffic to remote oilfields. Telenetics synthesized 23 GHz medium range point-to-point wireless radios run line of site up to 20 miles. In April, the company launched its new proprietary integrated digital multiplexor technology as an add-on feature to its high performance synthesized microwave wireless Broadband radios. The new technology greatly enhances the company’s current offering in wireless Internet applications by being able to format and transmit up to four full T1 or E1 circuits with the 10 MB LAN data simultaneously over the same path.
