Wireless Dimensions Announces Mobile-Venue Suite

Wireless Dimensions Corporation has announced its Mobile-Venue Suite™, targeted at stadium events and other venues. The product will provide a complete patent platform for wireless gaming, trivia, contests, vending/concessions, and merchandise sales, as well as scheduling and emergency functions.

It consists of the following components:

m-Merchandiser™ allows patrons to order merchandise from their seats.
m-Concessions™ enables spectators to order food and beverages from their seats.
m-SportsStats™ provides users to check statistics such as a particular batter’s batting average.
m-Triva™ and m-Quiz™ enable patrons to participant in contests to win points or discounts towards purchases.
m-Schedule™ will provide attendees at trade shows or festivals with maps, directions, and other details.
m-Emergency™ will be used to locate individuals, within a large event area, who have an injury or illness, have lost a child, or need to report a crime.

In addition, Mobile-Venue Suite has the ability to reach not only individuals at the event via Local Area Venue™ components, but also those in the television viewing audience through Wide Area Venue™ components. For event owners and managers, this means a potentially larger revenue stream.

Mobile-Venue Suite is air-interface-independent and will operate on all of the major wireless networks. It supports WAP-based devices including cellular/PCS telephones, palmtop computers, and PDAs.

The product will be released in the fall of 2000.
