MapinHand is a business-to-business solution built on Orale8i that enables companies to supply field staff real-time access to critical, location-based data using handheld devices. MapinHand is a packaged solution that includes installation and configuration of the solution on the customer site without requiring additional programming. MapInfo MapinHand will be available in September and will be priced based on the number of handheld client devices.

MapXtend™ Java™ Edition is a developer’s tool for the Java 2 platform, Micro Edition (J2ME™), that enables enterprises to create spatially-enabled applications for accessing location-based data on PDAs. According to the company, it is an ideal tool for service organizations with a large field force enabling them to communicate with the corporate office.
