MasterCard, InterVoice-Brite to Develop Wireless Telephony M-Commerce Solutions

MasterCard International and InterVoice-Brite are blending their expertise, electronic payment and wireless telephony, respectively, to jointly develop, market, and deliver global solutions for conducting secure payment transactions using a variety of wireless devices.

Under the terms of the agreement, the two companies’s secure payment solutions will allow mobile users to conduct secure transactions using credit cards, debit cards, electronic cash, and pre-paid cards. These secure payment solutions, based on MasterCard’s family of payment programs, using both magnetic stripe and chip technology, will be integrated into InterVoice-Brite’s enhanced network service for the wireless market.

Mobile phone operators, service providers, and MasterCard’s member financial institutions will be able to use InterVoice-Brite enhanced wireless telephony solutions to offer their customers secure payment capabilities when making purchases, paying bills, managing investment portfolios, and making traveling arrangements from a wide range of wireless devices.
