2000 - 28 (August 2000) PRODUCTS, SERVICES & APPLICATIONS Wireless Knowledge and Microsoft Team to Mobilize Enterprise Customers Wireless Knowledge Inc. and Microsoft Corp. have announced that they will work together to provide Microsoft customers with a complete solution for mobile access to Microsoft®™ Exchange Server 5.5 using Wireless Knowledge’s Workstyle Server. Under the terms of the alliance, Wireless Knowledge will be designated as a primary service provider for enterprise mobility services, including strategic consulting, application development, and education. Wireless Knowledge’s Workstyle Server 3.0 provides access to Microsoft Exchange 5.5 from not only a broad range of wireless Web devices, such as mobile phones and PDAs, over any wireless network, but also wired Internet devices such as PCs, WebTV® service-based appliances, and kiosks. The Workstyle gives mobile workers access to email, calendar, and contract information. The two companies will combine technologies to develop next generation wireless access applications for Microsoft Exchange. Since both products share a compatible wireless architecture, Microsoft will be offering enterprise customers initially deploying Workstyle Server a cost-effective upgrade path to future versions built on the Microsoft platform.
