SIM Now Utilizes Certicom’s SSL Encryption for Secure Mobile Access to Corporate Messaging Systems

Syclo LLC. announced that it has licensed Certicom Corp.’s SSL Plus™ security technology for the Syclo Information Manager (SIM), a mobile solution for the accessing of corporate messaging systems.

By integrating Certicom’s technology into its SIM suite of products, Syclo offers SIM users the industry standard for securing electronic data in order to access corporate email, appointments, tasks, and contacts over Web-enabled mobile phones and handheld computers.

The SIM suite contains two components:

  • SIMPhone, which allows wireless Web access from WAP enabled phones.
  • SIMSync, which lets palmtops synchronize via docking cradle, dial-up, or wireless connections.

SIM enables corporate workers to access enterprise messaging systems such as Microsoft Exchange™ and Novell GroupWise™ over wireless devices. SIM runs on Syclo’s Agentry™ technology, a software platform that extends enterprise systems to mobile workers.

Mobileinfo Comments and Advisory:  Too many players chasing the general-purpose messaging wireless market. We would encourage vendors to add value and/or provide custom services to extend the functionality of messaging to vertical applications.
