To protect corporations against emerging security threats, McAfee, a Network Associates, Inc. business, has delivered the McAfee Wireless family of products, an Internet virus security solution. The anti-virus product protects e-businesses from Internet viruses and malicious code transferred via mobile devices. The McAfee VirusScan Wireless product provides anti-virus protection for the leading handheld platforms including Palm OS, PocketPC, Windows CE, and Symbian EPOC. It can be easily installed from the McAfee Web site. Once installed, all files transferred to or from the PC during any synchronization with the wireless device will be scanned for viruses. The product also updates itself automatically over the Internet. The McAfee VirusScan Wireless product is a featured component of the McAfee Wireless family of products, which complements the McAfee Active Virus Defense suite. The wireless product is priced at $12 per node at the 5,000-node level.
