Bluetooth Tech Used to Develop Wireless Tech for Transmission of Biological Signals for Safety Solutions

Biosys AN commissioned BlueLabs, an Ericsson-certified Bluetooth Solution Provider, to develop a wireless solution based on its system Biodrow that measures human biological signals such as heart activity, movement, and respiration using sensors built into a chair. By combining Bluetooth technology and Biosys’s system, BlueLabs has now developed a wireless link that allows for the transmission of biological signals, such as breathing and pulse, to a computer for further processing.

This technology has uses in safety solutions and health care applications. As a safety application, it could be used as a "slumber warning" in vehicles alerting the driver that he is dozing off to sleep and wakes him up.

The project is the first to combine Bluetooth with advanced medical technology. It is also a striking example of how intelligent communication can result in concrete solutions, according to Otto Lilja of BlueLabs.

Mobileinfo Comments and Advisory: A good potential application of Bluetooth technology! May we remind medical scientists to ensure that there is no safety implication where patients wear pace makers.
