Interactive Intelligence Previews Wireless Interaction Management Solution for Palm Device

Interactive Intelligence, Inc. has introduced its Wireless Interaction Client, a new interaction management application for the Palm™ Pilot. The application will enable mobile workers to conduct business more effectively from any Palm Pilot equipped with wireless connectivity. For instance, a sales manager could set up a conference call using a Palm Pilot and a cell phone and then e-mail a recording of the call to his sales team.

The Wireless Interaction Client provides mobile employees various interaction management capabilities including the following:

  • Search Corporate Directory for names, phone numbers, addresses, and other information.
  • View real-time status information enables users to know who is in and out of the office.
  • Outboard calls can be made using the corporate communications system. An employee for instance, can enter an international number on a PDA and press "Send"; the communications systems will then bridge the two calls together.
  • Conference calls can be conducted by entering multiple phone numbers or by selecting multiple people from the corporate directory, and then pressing "Conference."
  • Screen incoming calls from the display information including caller ID and reverse white pages information.
  • Recorded calls, even conference calls, are sent as wave file attachments to an e-mail message.

Wireless Interaction Client is expected to be available in the fourth quarter of this year.
