2000 - 32 (Sept. 2000) PRODUCTS, SERVICES & APPLICATIONS Nextel Introduces Wireless Internet Service for Businesses Nextel Communications, Inc. has launched its Nextel Online Wireless Internet Services in selected U.S. markets.The service offers business customers Nextel Internet-capable "plus" phones which are described as a "four-in-one wireless business communication tool." Manufactured by Motorola, these phones integrate Internet service, Nextel Direct Connect® digital two-way radio service, digital cellular service, and text/numeric paging into one phone. In addition, Nextel has partnered with Phone.com and Cisco to deliver an integrated packetized voice and data service. Nextel One offers customers immediate access to the Internet, eliminating the need to dial-in as with the wireless data services.
