SoftNet Zone and Zoolink Provide Broadband Wireless Internet Access for Business Travelers

In March of this year, Nokia and Zoolink launched a high-speed wireless Internet system at Vancouver International Airport (YVR); however, SoftNet Zone recently announced that it has acquired the rights from Nokia. Under the agreement, the WLAN at YVR will become part of the SoftNet Zone network, which will extend the range of WLAN coverage to Zoolink customers. Besides YVR, SoftNet Zone has also been targeting 150 international airports as well as hotels and convention centers; the company intends to implement wireless networks in areas that attract frequent business travelers.

The deal will enable Zoolink customers to log on to any other SoftNet Zone wireless network in the U.S. or Canada to conduct business, check stock prices, reschedule a flight, or browse the Internet.

According to Zoolink, the YVR installation is one of the largest WLANs in the world, covering approximately two kilometers from one end of the terminal to the other, as well as the lobby area of the airport Fairmount Hotel.
