Handspring Introduces Vivid Color and Enhanced Speed into New Visor Handhelds

Handspring Inc. introduced two new products to its line of Visor handheld computers: Visor Prism and Visor Platinum.

The Visor Prism
The Visor Prism is the company’s first color-enabled product, boasting a 16-bit color and displaying 65,000 colors. "Combing the Visors' rich, bright color display with Springboard expansion technology makes it a unique platform for applications like digital photography, global positioning systems, and color Internet browsing," remarked Joe Sipher, Vice President of Product Marketing for Handspring.

The Visor Platinum
The Visor Platinum is deemed the fastest Palm OS handheld on the market today, targeting users who require a high-performance device. According to the company, it is 50 percent faster than the Visor Deluxe and twice as fast as many other Palm OS products.

Springboard expansion slot
Motorola’s DragonBall VZ 33MHz processor, enhancing key features of both devices
8MB of RAM
USB connectivity
Palm OS 3.5, along with standard security features
16-bit color support

The Visor Prism and the Visor Platinum are currently available on-line at Handspring.com and are priced at $449 and $299, respectively.
