GoAmerica, Microsoft and CreSenda Launch Wireless Solution for Real Estate Market

To gain that competitive edge, real Estate professionals first turned to the wired Internet but are quickly realizing that wireless handheld -- Palm and now the PocketPC -- solutions offer a far greater advantage.

With this in mind, GoAmercia, Microsoft Corp. and CreSenda Wireless have come together to offer the real estate professional access to customized wireless services on the PocketPC.

Components of the solution:

  • The Compaq iPAQ, the HP Jornada, and the Casio Cassiopeia PocketPC devices running Microsoft Windows OS
  • CreSenda’s real estate application
  • GoAmerica’s Hotpaper application for viewing and sending documents
  • GoAmerica’s Go.Web will be integrated with Microsoft’s Mobile Information Server for access to corporate intranets

The real estate solution will enable real estate agents equipped with a PocketPC to perform the following tasks:

  • Access real-time market specifications
  • View color photos of homes
  • Search maps and interact with detailed profiles of properties
  • Customize the application with respect to city and state, price ranges, and property features.
  • Send and receive e-mail
  • Browse the Internet
  • Access corporate intranets and Microsoft Exchange functions, including phone and address book.

MobileInfo Comments and Advisory: By the natures of its business, real estate is a big market ripe for wireless. We do not think Palm is a good platform.  You need a powerful machine with lots of storage, high resolution screen.
