Nokia Brings Bluetooth to the Nokia 6210

As the world is moving towards universal connectivity between digital devices, Nokia is determined to make it easy, giving users a convenient connection without requiring a direct line of sight.

The Finnish company has unveiled its first Bluetooth solution for wireless connectivity between a mobile phone and any Bluetooth-enabled laptop or PC. The Nokia Connectivity Pack incorporates Bluetooth technology making its possible to use the Nokia 6210 phone as a GSM modem to connect to a laptop within the range of 10 meters.

Nokia Connectivity Pack DTL – 1P

  • Enables the downloading of e-mail, Internet browsing, and fax sending
  • Allows for the synchronization of calendar and contact data between compatible PC applications and the Nokia 6210
  • Complements Nokia's 6210 high-speed data rates of 43.2 kpbs

The Connectivity Pack includes

  • A connectivity battery for the Nokia 6210, bringing wireless connection to all Bluetooth-enabled PCs
  • Connectivity card with a PC Card adapter
  • A software upgrade will be required for existing users of the Nokia 6210

"Transferring information to a laptop can now be carried out efficiently and seamlessly, without having to reach for you phone in your briefcase," remarked Juha Reima, vice president accessories, Nokia Mobile Phones.

Both the Connectivity Pack and Battery will be available in Europe, Africa, Asia Pacific during the first quarter of 2001.
