2000 - 46 (Dec. 2000) TECHNOLOGY Ericsson and Tivoli Team on Mobile Device Management In an effort to simplify the introduction of enhanced mobile services for not only the mobile operator and enterprise but also their consumers and professionals users, Ericsson and Tivoli Systems Inc. have joined forces to develop a set of mobile device management solutions.Under the terms of the agreement, Ericsson will incorporate Tivoli device management technology on the server side to be functional with Ericsson’s forthcoming 3G mobile communication devices, the companies reported. For mobile operators, service providers and enterprises, the solution will enable their customers and mobile workers to start using their new devices, services, and applications immediately without having to make any time-consuming configuration changes. Furthermore, the Ericsson/Tivoli solution will provide operators with a complete view of the subscribers, services, and user devices, as well as the tools to manage those devices and services.
