Neomar’s Wireless Solution Enables WAP on Any Palm Device

True to its mandate of making mobile workers more productive, Neomar, Inc. has announced its latest version of its wireless solution that enables the professional Palm to user access a wider range of corporate applications and Web content.

By deploying version 2.0 of Neomar’s wireless solution for Palm™ Mobile Internet Kit  (MIK), the mobile worker using a wirelessly enabled Palm device* can access WAP content along side web clipping applications.

Building on the 1.5 version of its wireless solution, just recently made available, Neomar’s latest solution will enable users to access critical enterprise information from customer data to corporate intranet information to e-commerce transactions via the Neomar browser.

According to the company, the browser is the client software component of its end-to-end solution for systems integrators, wireless content providers, and enterprise application providers.

Features of the Neomar browser

  • Security, WTLS session resumption, a padlock icon indicates security is enabled on browser.
  • Full support for WAP stack and WML 1.1 with partial support for both HDML and HTML as well as basic HTTP authentication support.
  • Up to 6 Kb decks supported, allows for more information to be downloaded.
  • Graphic features include WBMP graphic images, images in hyperlinks, and images on-line with text.
  • Multiple personality support includes mini launcher applications that allow the user to specify icons, home URLs, browser behavior, and gateways for each personality.

Availability

  • The 1.5 Version of the Neomar wireless solution was made available in November as part of the Palm MIK.
  • The 2.0 Version is available in beta, with the FCS to be made available during the first quarter of 2001.
