2000 - 46 (Dec. 2000) TECHNOLOGY Alcatel and Zucotto Wireless To Develop Java-Based Bluetooth Solutions for 3G Wireless Devices Alcatel and Zucotto Wireless Inc. have entered into a partnership to combine their expertise, Bluetooth and Java semiconductor technologies, respectively, to accelerate the development of Java technology-enabled Bluetooth devices.The alliance will develop an integrated solution that will allow Alcatel’s single-chip Bluetooth solution to take advantage of Zucotto’s Xpresso™ processor’s ability to execute Java bytecode natively, delivering an efficient, optimized balance between high-speed and low-power consumption.
