JZ Link Launches Universal Access to the Web

Being able to access any Web site regardless of the device, anywhere, at anytime, some would say, would be the mark of true universal access.

This is precisely what JZ Link Inc., a developer of Internet connectivity technologies, has set out to do. The company has designed products that will enable access to any HTML Web site from an Internet-enabled phone, a wireless PDA, or a wireline phone. Recently, the company launched two products: ATOMS and VOICER.

ATOMS (Automated Transcoding On Markup Language):

  • Reformats original HTML pages to be presented on a small display screen
  • Translates HTML to WML, VoiceXML and other mobile formats
  • A built-in customization tool enables access of selected sections of a HTML page
  • Internet-compliant phones can access any HTML site via the transcoding service provided by ATOMS

VOICER:

  • Combined with ATOMS’ reformatting capabilities
  • A phone browser for browsing HTML pages by telephone
  • Navigate the Web by spoken commands or a telephone keypad, using voice or keypad commands
  • Content is either broadcasted or displayed on the mobile device

"JZ Link’s technologies will enable us to communicate via [the] Internet with various formats on the fly. This is essential for global communication," commented Takashi Hatakeyama, general manager, marketing division, Mitsubishi Space Software Co.
