Aether Systems Introduces Upgrades of Wireless Enterprise Product Line

Aether Systems has announced availability of ScoutSync ™ v.3.6, ScoutExtend™, and ScoutIT™ v.3.6. These products offer the enterprise the synchronization capabilities and the device management tools to enable its mobile workers secure access to business resources such as e-mail, calendars, and multiple databases.

ScoutSync 3.6
Building on the advanced synchronization capabilities of the earlier version, the updated ScoutSync 3.6 version offers the following new features:

A Pocket PC client has been added to the Palm and WinCE client .
Offers three levels of security for the both Palm OS and Window CE devices, including 128-bit encryption, enabling encryption over TCP/IP and CDPD networks.
Allows users access to enterprise applications via Internet standard SSL connections.

Combined with ScoutExtend, ScoutSync is now equipped with PIM and multi-database synchronization functions that can be deployed without undertaking a custom conduit development cycle, the company said.

ScoutExtend

ScoutSync Conduit for Lotus® Notes® synchronizes Lotus Notes Mail and Calendar folders with Palm handheld Mail and Data Book applications.
ScoutSync Conduit for Microsoft® Exchange synchronizes Exchange tools with Palm handheld applications.
ScoutSync DB Connect integrates ScoutSync synchronization infrastructure with the PeerDirection Replication Engine for synchronizing Palm databases with multiple enterprise databases.

ScoutIT 3.6
The new version of ScoutIT features enhanced management tools that enable the administration of mobile devices and solutions.

Management API for Windows CE and Pocket PC devices allows administrators to integrate the management console of ScoutIT into existing management systems.
Stand-alone user Import Utility enables managers to import user profiles from systems like Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes, and flat file formats.
Datebase Migration Utility allows for the conversion of the database from Microsoft Access to Oracle or Sybase.
