The company said that the Lucent MiLife Mobile Internet Gateway was developed by Bell Labs to help mobile operators deliver personalized, location and presence-based applications to their customers, while helping to ensure both network security and individual privacy.

Depending on the needs of the operator, they may choose an introductory mobile Internet experience such as the Lucent’s MiLife WAP Gateway solution for SMS, e-mail, and PIM services or the more advanced MiLife Mobile Internet Gateway for delivering personalized, location and presence-based applications.
