NEWS DEVICES Siemens Unveils GSM/TDMA Phones Within the next year, the market will be flooded with a host of new mobile phones. In step with its competitors, Siemens has unveiled two new wireless phones one that is aimed at the U.S. market that supports TDMA, GSM and GPRS networks.Introduced at the CTIA Wireless 2001 show in Las Vegas, the Siemens S47 is aimed at TDMA and GSM mobile network operators such as AT&T Wireless and Cingular. The company expects the S47 to be available in the U.S. by the end of this year. As reported by allNetDevices, the device manufacturer introduced its SIMpad SL4 wireless tablet for accessing the Internet. The handheld tablet will run Windows CE and include Pocket Office applications. It also has built-in Personal Java 1.2 to support Java applications, the company said.
