PixAround Turns PDAs into Portable Albums
PixAround.com Pte Ltd. has unveiled
an interactive 3D and 360-degree digital image viewing software for
Palm OS handhelds, PixScreen™ Palm 1.0.
PixScreen supports three-dimensional and moving pictures,
enabling Palm users to view an entire room or scene, and by using
the device’s on-screen control, users can pan or zoom in on the
image. Users can also share color or grayscale images with friends
and business colleagues who have compatible Palm handhelds. This is
ideal for real estate and travel agents as they can now take a
prospective buyer or client on a 360-degree virtual tour of a
property or destination.
"The keyword behind the creation of PixScreen Palm 1.0 is
portability," said Willie Png, managing director of PixAround.
"With PixScreen Palm 1.0, users no longer have to lug their
heavy photo albums around to show relatives or friends photographs
of their baby or vacation." PixScreen Palm 1.0 provides users
with a portable album that makes it easy to share visual content
across portable devices, he added.

Mobileinfo Comments and Advisory: These
are early experiments. Palm devices lack the power and resolution
for 3D. Future will be better. In this respect, Pocket Pc will fare
better.
