Wysdom Launches Two-Way SMS InterCarrier Solution
Wysdom, Inc. has launched its newly expanded InterCarrier
Mobyle Gateway (ICMG), which will allow carriers to offer
subscribers the means to exchange messages with others worldwide via
wireless pagers, PDAs, or handsets.
To date it has been almost impossible for North American users to
send inter-carrier messages; subsequently, users have been reluctant
to use SMS services. Wysdom’s ICMG will offer carriers an
easy-to-use SMS service that does not require subscribers to know
the recipient’s device number and carrier to send a text message.
"U.S. and Canadian carriers using ICMG will be among the
first to roll out two-way inter-carrier SMS in North America,"
said Kashif Hassan, CEO and co-founder of Wysdom. "Overall,
ICMG will help SMS in this market catch-up with the rest of the
world by overcoming many of the barriers hampering its growth. Our
vision is to enable all users, on any mobile device, to send text
messages to friends, family, and business associates anywhere in the
world."
Wysdom’s ICMG is based on Mobyle Application Platform (MAP)
technology, which
- Provides the various functional elements such as plug-ins and
telephony interfaces needed to complete carrier and third-party
connectivity
- Processes, renders, and routes the text, which is then passed
on to the appropriate carrier and on to the recipient’s device
