Motorola’s Accompli 008 Lightens the Load
For those who find
themselves lugging their mobile phone, PDA, pager, and laptop when
they are on the road, Motorola has attempted to lessen their burden
with the introduction of its all-in-one mobile phone and handheld.
The Accompli™ 008 is described as the latest device that embraces
the mobile phone, PDA, and the Internet in one slim-down, efficient
solution.
In the words of Tim Parsey, vice president of Motorola’s
Consumer Experience Design Organization, the Accompli is the perfect
marriage between a PDA and cell phone.
Instead of relying on the tried and true operating systems, Palm
and Windows CE, the company said that it developed a brand-new
operating system for the Motorola 008, stressing that its designers
were determined not to weld together two unlike devices, but make a
statement by creating something new.
Mobile Phone
- Dual-band GSM and GPRS protocols
- Software composed of ring-tones
PDA Functionality
