Diversinet Partners with Circata to Provide Secure Wireless
Gateway
M-Commerce security
provider Diversinet Corp. has announced that it will integrate its
security technology within Circata’s proprietary platform, Exellar™
Wireless Server, to offer businesses a secure solution that is
compatible with their existing infrastructure.
Under the terms of the agreement, Circata will integrate
Diversinet’s Passport Certificate Server security technology
within its Exellar product. The two companies will work together to
market each other’s products.
Designed as a wireless access gateway, Exellar connects to
virtually any device to applications regardless of the type of
device or its wireless network.
Features of the Exellar Wireless Server
- Supports a wireless solution connected to any wireless
Web-enabled device, including WAP phones, smartphones, PDAs,
Windows CE handheld computers, and two-way pagers
- Manages all access parameters such as carriers networks,
gateways, protocols, carrier bandwidth
- Enables rending of dynamic applications based on a combination
of factors including the device’s screen size, mini browser,
and support of color graphics
According to the companies, the integration of Diversinet’s
advanced PKI security technology into Circata’s wireless gateway
provides customers with a secure and uncomplicated middleware
solution.

believe wireless middleware is an important component of a wireless
solution. Integrating Diversinet security is a good feature. There
are other vendors (IBM, Sybase iAnywhere) who offer wireless
middleware server. Circata will have to compete with these solutions
to get customer acceptance.
