Arch Wireless Launches Client-Based Messaging Server
Arch Wireless, a wireless Internet messaging and mobile information
company, announced a new client-based messaging server that enables
corporate clients to integrate wireless messaging, email, voice
mail, fax, Internet, Intranet, and legacy systems. The messaging
server's intelligent gateway allows various communication devices to
talk to each other by converting messages into the appropriate
format for the receiving device.
Arch's new messaging server is provided through an agreement with
Motorola and uses the Motorola messaging server. The Arch messaging
server is customizable and scalable for individual needs. The
messaging server can be integrated with a company's existing
database and legacy system using Open Database Connectivity (ODBC)
to provide wireless access to critical data.
Arch messaging server features:
- Integration with existing infrastructure
- RC4 encryption for security
- Minimal hardware requirements for the messaging server's
Windows NT platform
- Connectivity to a wide variety of protocols, including SMTP
and WCTP, and is extensible to others
- On-site messaging server gives client administrator control
over configuration and monitoring

- Consolidated storage of multimedia messages in a single
personal inbox with a single password
