TDI Uses Streetbeam Infrared Beaming Stations On Public Telephone Kiosks

TDI, the outdoor advertising specialist, is deploying Streetbeam infrared beaming stations on public telephone kiosks throughout New York. The stations enable users of Palm organizers to receive information, applications and special offers from paying advertisers. TDI has been trailing the service with retailer Banana Republic and is now planning to deliver campaigns for Palm, Sotheby's and Morgan Stanley. TDI is planning to introduce the Streetbeam stations in San Francisco and other major North American and European cities over the next few months.

Mobileinfo Comments and Advisory: Electronic information kiosks with capability to distribute information to common devices is a good way of distributing common and public information. However, the future shape and functionality of these kiosks will go through a transformation process, we believe.
