Hutchison 3G UK Aiming To Make Splash With 3G Launch
Hutchison 3G UK is planning on offering a "sparkling" bundle of entertainment content over its third-generation (3G) wireless network. The company believes its network will be up sometime in the middle of next year, and hopes to lure consumers by offering high-speed service and advanced content for the same rates as are currently being charged for lesser services.
Nokia, Sonera Confirm Successful Test of GPRS Roaming
Nokia and Sonera have worked together to successfully test GPRS roaming in a third-generation mobile environment. The companies stated that this is the first success in such a test. (Total Telecom)
Orange To Launch GPRS Trial This Fall
Orange is going to offer consumers access to GPRS service this fall. Only current customers are eligible to participate in the trial, as Orange will be offering the service at a discount. The GPRS connection will allow an always-on Internet connection. (ZDNet UK)
