Nokia Demonstrates its mPlatform
Advertising Solutions
Nokia has demonstrated its mPlatform Advertising solution, a component of the Nokia mPlatform mobile internet middleware system. The solution will enable network operators to manage all aspects of mobile advertising, including targeting, delivery, reporting and billing. Designed as a network independent technology, mPlatform Advertising will support the delivery of everything from simple text advertisements to full motion video clips. Operators will be able to offer customers permission-based, targeted advertisements and sponsored services which reduce the cost of airtime or data transfer. It is part of a wider move by Nokia to develop its expanding infrastructure business by providing both network equipment and value-added software and services.

Mobileinfo Comments and Advisory: It
is good to see Nokia to take lead in this area. Mobile advertising
business model has more questions than answers. Nonetheless, we do
need an infrastructure middleware that addresses critical
requirements of delivering permission-based advertising content,
reporting and billing. For this, we applaud Nokia in filling a
much-need void.
