PeopleSoft Selects Starfish
Software to Mobilize CRM Solutions
Starfish Software of Scotts Valley, Calif., said it will integrate its mobile data synchronization technology into PeopleSoft's CRM (Customer Relationship Management) solutions. In addition, the company will join PeopleSoft Alliances Program as its preferred mobile data synchronization partner.
According to Todd Kort, principal analyst with Gartner Dataquest, "The partnership between Starfish and PeopleSoft is significant to the advancement of mobile data." As enterprises continue to mobilize their workforce equipped with the latest devices, "synchronization [becomes] a necessary enabler for truly mobilizing mission critical enterprise data applications," he added.
Starfish’s TrueSync Server-based mobile data synchronization technology will become a key component of PeopleSoft's enterprise solutions. The integrated solution will enable PeopleSoft's customers to synchronize data from PeopleSoft's CRM solution with other enterprise applications such as Microsoft Exchange, as well as with devices such as Palm, PocketPC and wireless phones.
"Starfish's TrueSync mobile data synchronization technology adds real power to PeopleSoft's vision of making CRM data available anytime, anywhere," said Paul Sinclair, Starfish Software’s vice president of worldwide sales. The two companies will "deliver integrated, multi-point mobile data synchronization between PeopleSoft solutions and connected devices, desktops and enterprise servers," he added.

Mobileinfo Comments & Advisory: It
is imperative for CRM and ERP application providers to select a
partner out of several leading synchronization solution providers. It
is a feather in Starfish's cap because vendors like Synchrologic and
Pumatech would have wooed PeopleSoft. It is equally creditable for
PeopleSoft to integrate mobile data synchronization under the cover of
its ERP software.
