IBM and GoAmerica to Offer
Wireless Enterprise Solutions
IBM has joined forces with
wireless service provider GoAmerica to offer corporate data
solutions to enterprise customers.
Under the terms of the agreement, IBM
will add GoAmerica’s wireless network services, which offer
enterprise customers access to corporate e-mail and Web browsing using
Palm, PocketPC and RIM handhelds, to its portfolio of wireless
solutions.
"The strength of a GoAmerica/IBM
offering promises more complete wireless solutions including hardware,
service, server solutions, deployment and integration," said
Roberta Wiggins of the Yankee Group.
"IBM and GoAmerica address the challenges of ease of deployment and security that enterprises need," said Dean Douglas, general manager, Wireless e-business Services of IBM Global Services. "Wireless communications deliver better productivity, better customer care and better cost control, and together IBM and GoAmerica provide a smart solution for the enterprise that wants the advantages of going mobile."
The two companies will work together to
