Sony Moves into Wireless
Networking Arena with Wi-Fi Notebook
Amidst the hype of the
Consumer Electronics Show and just days after Hewlett Packard
introduced its mobile advanced notebook, electronic giant Sony has
introduced its entry into the wireless networking arena — the Vaio
SRX77 notebook. Sony will make the new Vaio available next month.
This new portable PC featuring integrated 802.11b wireless
capabilities and long battery life is ideal for the mobile user,
Sony says, who is looking to connect to a local area network at
home, at the office or in any one of the growing number of public
networking hotspots, from airport lounges to hotel lobbies.
The Vaio exemplifies the essence of mobility — wireless
connectivity, long battery life and extreme portability — said
Mark Hanson, Sony’s vice president and general manager of Vaio PC
marketing.
Besides making it easier for the business professional to stay
connected, the Vaio will also entertain the tech-savvy consumer. It
features a host of digital entertainment features from video editing
software to an i.LINK interface to support high-speed digital video
and audio transfer from compatible devices.
