‘eMobilty’ Focus of Comdex
Chicago 2002
Comdex Chicago 2002, a
three-day event held in the windy city, attracted visitors from
around the country. With over 200 exhibitors, corporate buyers, IT
executives and developers from Fortune 1000 companies filled the
aisles to view and test the latest wireless and security products.
"Comdex Chicago 2002 successfully mobilized the high tech
community around the topics of eMobility and security and gave the
industry a view on how to integrate these technologies efficiently
in corporate environments," said Monica Vila, president,
Comdex.
The keynote speakers also addressed the topics of eMobility and
security as Sanjay Kumar, CEO of Computer Associates, one of the
five presenters, stressed: "To maximize the return on their
investments in eMobility, organizations must reduce their ownership
costs through automated management and more efficient use of their
information assets. Those organizations that successfully meet these
challenges will gain significant competitive advantage as the growth
of wireless technology continues to accelerate."
Other keynote presenters were Jim Balsillie, chairman of Research
in Motion; Dean Douglas, general manager of Wireless e-business, IBM
Global Services; Bill Clift, CTO at Cingular Wireless, and Edward
Newman, chairman, president and CEO of Xybernaut Corporation.
Complimenting the central theme of the trade show was the

Mobileinfo Comments & Advisory: Comdex
has made Chicago as the venue for eMobility focus. To us, Chicago Comdex
manifested itself in the start of a converged mobile device with voice
and data in the same unit. That is progress, convenience and one less
pocket in your jacket.
