Digital River Launches Mobile Commerce Specialty store for OfficeMax

Digital River has built and launched a mobile commerce (m-commerce) specialty store for OfficeMax, a leading retail provider of office products, business machines and related items. This m-commerce boutique, which resides in the existing OfficeMax e-commerce store (www.officemax.com), showcases mobile-ready software products that can be purchased and fulfilled via over-the-air electronic software delivery. In addition to building and launching the m-commerce specialty store, Digital River is providing transaction management, digital fulfillment, e-marketing, fraud prevention and customer service.

"The launch of this new m-commerce boutique for OfficeMax demonstrates the increasing demand for m-commerce products and services," said Joel Ronning, Digital River’s CEO. "We are poised to grow in this market and execute our m-commerce strategy because of our strong relationships with software publishers and channel partners, our extensive software library and our world-class outsourcing model. Our model is built to scale and adheres to open standards technology that can meet today’s demands for multi-channel e-commerce operations and multiple delivery alternatives. We will continue to benefit from the efficiencies of our infrastructure as we aggressively pursue this market."

Digital River’s new m-commerce boutique offering provides benefits for channel partners, software publishers and consumers. Channel partners can cost effectively and efficiently open new avenues for marketing and selling innovative lines of revenue-generating products. Software publishers gain new channels for reaching a broader marketplace of consumers. And visitors to the site can conveniently add new functions to their mobile devices by purchasing and downloading software from broad categories, including games, and small business and personal finance applications.

"We are excited about working with Digital River to open channels to the m-commerce software market," said Ryan Vero, OfficeMax executive vice president of merchandising, marketing and OfficeMax.com/direct. "Through Digital River’s model, we’ve been able to leverage our existing e-commerce infrastructure to add a new store, increase our revenue potential and extend the OfficeMax brand to more consumers."
