Texas Instruments Unveils New OMAP
Development Kit
Texas Instruments has
announced the availability of the Innovator Development Kit for the
OMAP platform.
OMAP technology optimizes processing performance and reduces
power consumption, which has attracted the attention of many OEMs
and software developers building existing or future devices.
The development kit will help wireless application developers
create rich multimedia, gaming, secure m-commerce and enterprise
applications for 2.5G and 3G mobile devices.
Features of the Innovator Development Kit
- Single development platform supporting multiple operating
systems such as Linux, Microsoft Windows CE, Palm OS, Symbian OS
and others.
- DSP-based OMAP 1510 processor for maximum performance and
power efficiency.
- Expansion boards are planned to support multiple wireless
standards including GSM/GPRS, 802.11 and Bluetooth.
The Innovator Development Kit will be manufactured, sold and
supported by Productivity Systems Inc., under license by Texas
Instruments.
